It is designed for moms and explains why breastfeeding is crucial during emergencies, how to continue breastfeeding if ordered to leave home and how to relactate if necessary. It also discusses wet nursing in extreme circumstances.
The pamphlet emphasizes that babies can be completely sustained on breastmilk alone for about the first six months.
This pamphlet is useful in shelters, as a handout in WIC programs, doctors' offices and hospitals, or anywhere else that new and expectant moms gather. This is especially helpful for the southeast during hurricane season. Sold in packs of 50 for as low as 50¢ each. Available in English & Spanish.
